February 13th 2010 05:18
Nodame Cantabile ~ Finale is the third season from the anime, Nodame Cantabile. You can read Nodame Cantabile review here and Nodame Cantabile Paris Hen here.

Nodame Cantabile finale, anime

Genres: comedy, romance

Themes: music

Synopsis: The love & music story continues between Noda Megumi, the talented yet distracted (almost childish) piano player, and Chiaki Shinichi, the prodigious, always focused on advancing forward, orchesta director. How love will finally find its way for this two persons. Will it be able to surpass the challenges ahead or will it die prematurely. Paris, the city of light, is the more accurate place to find out how this "love musical" will reach its FINALE.

Comment:

I may not be Nodame Cantabile fan but I just love this anime during the first season because it's not just so music-centric but also it has a lot of humors which really cracks me up. If you have read my review about Nodame Cantabile Paris Hen, my review was based on before the anime ended so to be honest, that anime just makes me feel like the second season was boring.

So, when I just heard that there is the third season for Nodame Cantabile where it also indicates this will be the finale (most probably there won't be any Nodame Cantabile after this), the last episode in Nodame Cantabile Paris Hen started playing in my mind. The second season is so-so but I just find that Nodame Cantabile ~ Finale has gone downhill in terms of storyline. There is nothing new and special in this anime and sometimes I was wondering why I'm watching this anime in the first place. I'm curious to know what will happen after the Nodame Cantabile Paris Hen, so this is one of the reason why I'm still watching this anime despite how boring it is.

Nodame Cantabile finale, anime

To be precise, there's no new characters for this season except for the few people who only just appear in a certain episodes. You may have no problem with the characters' introduction if you have watched Nodame Cantabile Paris Hen.

Honestly, I have no other concerns besides storyline. I know it may be too early to conclude that the storyline is totally going downhill but I just feel that way. I would expect this anime is fun to watch just like the first season but sadly, I might have expect too much for this anime.

Nodame Cantabile finale, anime

This anime is only meant for those who really love Nodame Cantabile so much. If you love the first season so much, I doubt you will like the third season. For me, I just find the third season is getting crappier than the second season.

Genres: comedy, romance, slice of life

Theme: school

Synopsis: Kuronuma Sawako is nicknamed Sadako due to her resemblance to the girl from the Japanese horror movies "The Ring". Shunned by her classmates, her life starts to change as she befriends Shota Kazehaya, a very popular boy in her class.

Comment:

Let me admit it here - when I heard about this anime, I thought that the title sounds really cheesy to me. No offense to the title though, but my first impression about this anime is that it might be some sort of love story kinda anime. Just take a look at the picture itself. It just looks like a typical shoujo anime (If you have been sticking with me, you should have known that I hate shoujo anime...most of it). But then again, I'm still watching it.

Kimi ni todoke, anime

Luckily, I dump my weird impression about this anime thanks to the synopsis. I just think that the storyline itself is fascinating. Well, we have heard a lot of common nickname such as stinky, nerd...just to name a few but relating someone who looks like a ghost is pretty much amusing. Not just that, everybody does believe that she has the ability like the real Sadako. I thought that the misunderstanding only does exist in the first episode but it still going through even in the next episode! Well, it really is true that misunderstanding can't be cleared overnight.

Kimi ni todoke, anime

If you think this anime is about just the rumor of a creepy-looking girl, you're absolutely wrong about this. I was very surprised with this anime that this anime really have a lot of moral lessons we can learn from. But the main theme about this anime is simply just to create friendship. I just love this kind of story over something romantic kinda storyline. The storyline can be a bit intense and frustrating in the middle as Sawako is trying hard to figure things out herself, but then again, it really does show us this situation really does happen in real life.

Throughout this anime, whenever I saw Sawako in the chibi form, she always reminds me of Sunako from Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge because Sunako is also always in the chibi form. Even their look are also typical - dark long hair with blunt fringe. Sunako and Sawako really does look scary physically so I'm amazed with the same physical traits that these two characters shared.

Also, having the right seiyuu to do the voice acting Sawako is essential to make the character looks alive. In this case, Mamiko Noto (who is the seiyuu of Enma Ai from Jigoku Shoujo) has done a very good job in making the character looks alive. One of the reason why people are scared of her is because of her ghostly voice tone whenever she speaks so I can say that I really like how Mamiko Noto portrayed this character.

To be honest, I haven't finished watching this anime until the latest episode but I would say that the storyline itself is very amusing and touching at the same time. Another anime that I highly recommend you to watch.

Fairy Tail anime review

January 30th 2010 10:40
Firstly, I would like to apologize for having such a long hiatus. Okay, you can say that I don't have any anime review to write and you're right about that. Actually, I can't recall what other anime I have watched so there seems to be a huge gap here. But then again, now I'm back with another review. So I hope you enjoy this review (and the anime as well) as much as I do.

Fairy Tail is an anime adapted from the manga which is created by Mashima Hiro. This anime is still an on-going anime when this review is written.

Fairy Tail, anime

Genres: action, comedy, magic

Synopsis: Lucy is a 17-year-old girl, who wants to be a full-fledged mage. One day when visiting Harujion Town, she meets Natsu, a young man who gets sick easily by any type of transportation. But Natsu isnt just any ordinary kid, he's a member of one of the world's most infamous mage guilds: Fairy Tail.

Comment:

I've been Mashima Hiro fan ever since I started and watched Groove Adventure Rave so I would say that I would be pretty much familiar with his work. Of course I was so enthusiastic to hear that Fairy Tail will be adapted into anime. Even though I have never read the manga, but since I know Mashima Hiro's capability so well, I bet this anime version will be as awesome as the manga version.

Now, let's move on with the storyline first because this is the thing that I believe that majority of us is concerned about. Initially, there is a brief introduction about the magic world and simple explanation about Fairy Tail as one of the guild before the anime starts (I mean even before the OP starts). I was thinking that it might be there until the anime ends. However, I think starting Episode 12, they have removed the introduction (correct me if I'm wrong though). Well, it wasn't such a big deal to me because if you've been watching this anime diligently, I would say that you're already familiar with what is Fairy Tail. Other than that, the character introduction is doing well but you may not be able to remember the whole Fairy Tail members as up until this point, only a few Fairy Tail members are introduced. The character introduction is simple with their own antiques so believe me, Fairy Tail has a lot of entertaining characters.

Fairy Tail, anime
Lucy and Mirajane in front of the notice board

To be honest, I never expected that Fairy Tail can be this laidback compared to Rave. It's not that Rave doesn't have any laidback moment, it's just that Fairy Tail has a lot of funny expressions which you will rarely see in Rave. Even though Fairy Tail is a new "baby" by Mashima Hiro, Fairy Tail captures me more than Rave. I thought that I would only be able to see these funny expressions in the first few episodes, but until the recent episode (the last episode I watched was Episode 13), the pattern remains the same. Because of this, I'm always looking forward to watch this anime.

Anyway, if you've been reading or watching Rave long enough, you'll be reuniting back with our dear friend from Rave, Plue. Rather than becoming Haru's follower, now he becomes Lucy's celestial spirit. Plue has made its first appearance on Episode 3 if I'm not mistaken but its power remains mysterious. I'm looking forward to see what sort of power it holds.

Fairy Tail, anime
Never EVER messed up with idiots

There are a few resemblances between Rave and Fairy Tail as the character designs look the same with Rave. For example, Gray looks exactly like Musica minus the piercing and SiegRain looks like SiegHart! Of course this is not a coincidence as Fairy Tail is created by the same person who creates Rave. But not to worry, they may look the same but they have totally different attitude.

Fairy Tail, anime

Overall, Fairy Tail is much more entertaining than Rave simply because it has a very laidback storyline. Regardless of the fact that the character designs can be tad similar with Rave, it still entertaining to watch the characters with different twist. If you're looking for action-packed anime with comedy blends into one, this anime is simply for you.

Firstly, I know that this post has nothing to do with anime but if you're thinking of setting up anime-related site such as download site or anime streaming site, then it's better for you to have a look into this post. Even though the title said it's for anime, that doesn't mean it's meant for anime website. It can also be applicable to other sites as well. In other words, this post is all about finding a web hosting for your websites.

I know that most of us love to download rather than buy the DVD (don't shoot me here just because I'm telling the truth) for a few reasons such as
