First. Post. Ever.

Well, here we go on another foray into the wonderful world of the interweb. Today we're venturing out into the world of the aspiring professional writer.
First thing's first, I should probably introduce myself, I'm Shaun although you can refer to my by my screen name 'Voxael'. I'm rather proud of it seeing as I thought it up all by myself (well, with the help of Babelfish and a limited knowledge of suffixes anyway).
I'm currently studying for a Diploma in Professional Writing and Editing at RMIT's Melbourne Campus and as such, I can boast the fledgling (first year) skills of an Editor in addition to my years of hobby-writing both fiction and reviews. When I'm not writing, I'm generally playing videogames or reading. On the rare occasions where I'm not doing any of those, I'm usually thinking about one or more of them.
What else should go in the introductory entry for a blog? Hmm, an summary of my style as well as what I write perhaps? Why not? Mostly I've written fiction, genre fiction if we want to be specific and Fantasy if we want to be really specific. (I can go on for another paragraph or so adding more html-modified 'reallys' to get to the really nitty gritty details of exactly what I write, so, in the interests of brevity, we'll leave it at 'Fantasy').
Having said that, I've developed a strong interest in the review side of journalism - movies and books for the most part. Recently, I attempted my first video game review and discovered another area that I enjoy enough to try and make a career out of it.
Well, it looks like this is it for the introductory entry to what will hopefully become something useful to me in a professional capacity. Look for my first review some time in the near future.
