Genres: comedy, slice of life

Synopsis: This is the story of college freshman Kanji Sasahara and his fellow members of the college club he joins, The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture (aka Genshiken), as he goes shopping for doujinshi, attends conventions and slowly but surely makes his way down the road to fandom.

Comment: What really caught my attention to this anime is it's because it's the anime that really shows slice of life about otaku. Some people may think that they really are weird but still, they're just like normal people like us. What really differentiate them with the normal people is just their obsessions with anime, manga and videogames. This anime gives you the in-depth story about otaku so this will be able to change people's perception about otaku. What will you learn from this anime is even good looking guy can be an otaku. The level of obsession varies on each individual but Genshiken can really sets a very good example of well-behave otaku. If you're familiar with the otaku senario, then you can use this anime as a platform to understand the otaku jargon. All I want to say is watch this anime if you're very curious with the otaku phenomenon which people take it as a social problem. Don't worry, it's a fun watch even though you're not an otaku. Seeing their behaviors are enough to crack you up.
