GOSICK anime review

GOSICK is an anime adapted from the manga with similar title. The manga is created by Kazuki Sakuraba.
Genres: mystery
Synopsis: GOSICK takes place in 1924 in a small, made-up European country of Sauville. The story centers on Kazuya Kujo, the third son of a Japanese Imperial soldier, who is a transfer student to St. Marguerite Academy, where urban legends and horror stories are all the rage. There he meets Victorique, a mysterious yet beautiful and brilliant girl who never comes to class and spends her days reading the entire content of the library or solving mysteries that even detectives can't solve.

GOSICK is one of the anime that I'm so hooked that it makes me yearning for it every week. Is this obsession normal? I hope so.
GOSICK may look like the typical fushigi mystery anime but it doesn't seem that way after you have watched the first few episodes. If you think that the anime is like Detective Conan, it does look and feel that way but you shouldn't worry so much about the deduction because GOSICK is not a detective story. It is true that Victorique and Kujo are there to debunk who is the culprit but it doesn't feel like watching a detective anime like Detective Conan.
So, how does the story flow? The story isn't as complicated and boring as it seems because the deduction is very simple (for me) and as usual, the story is full of mystery before the deduction comes in. And guess what, the cases that they solved aren't the typical detective case. Like I said before, it's a mystery anime so this is why the case is a weird and mysterious.
Since there are death involved, don't be afraid that this anime is full of blood and gore. Even if there is, it's not as bad as it looks like. So, if you're scared of blood and gore, don't worry because this anime doesn't seem to have any of those. Of course, there are times where you'll be seeing a relax moment episode so this anime isn't just about solving weird cases. Victorique and Kujo need a break as well.
If you love watching mystery anime with not-so-complex storyline, GOSICK is the anime that I highly recommend. Some of the cases really make you squeal a bit because the anime stops at the climax of the story, which is that is always the case for any anime - stop at the most important part at the wrong time. How this anime differ from manga version is something I'm not sure but if it's different, feel free to share it with the rest of us.
