Comment:

I must say that this is the only shoujo anime that I like compared to any other shoujo anime I've watched. If you have never watched or hate shoujo anime so much perhaps Honey and Clover will be perfect for you. Instead having a cliche storyline, Honey and Clover really demonstrate the love life in reality. Basically, what the storyline in this anime emphasize is really applicable in reality. So in this anime, you will see how some people have unrequited love, getting dump, etc so it's just like what we experience in real life.

Graphically-wise, this anime has a very soft tone making this anime looks so calming. We always see anime with bright graphics but not for this anime. Combining the soft graphic with the laidback storyline, this anime creates a calming feeling which I find a bonus.

Overall, this may not fancy some people who really love watching shoujo anime because this anime doesn't differ much from reality. I don't have any sentiment with other shoujo anime but I find that most shoujo anime is like a fairytale so I obviously don't like to get sucked up in fairytale. But in Honey and Clover, what you see in this anime is just like what you've seen in real life which is a good thing. Another good part about this anime is that it will show you how to see things from different angle so it really is a good lesson in life.

Therefore, if you dreaded watching shoujo anime because it's too cliche, the storyline is too surreal and the characters are too stereotype, perhaps you might enjoy watching this anime ^^
