Keroro Gunso (also known as Sergeant Keroro in English) is an anime adapted from the manga by Mine Yoshizaki.
Genres: Comedy
Synopsis: Keroro is a frog-like alien sent from his home planet on a mission to conquer Earth. But when his cover is blown, his battalion abandons him and he ends up in the home of the Hinata family. There, he's forced to do household chores and sleep in a dark basement that was once supposedly a prison cell haunted by the ghost of an innocent girl. He even spends his free time assembling Gundam model kits. During his stay, Keroro meets up with subordinates who were also stranded during their failed invasion.

I must say that I really like this anime so much. Even though this anime looks appealing for younger audience but that doesn't mean that it won't be appealing to the mature audience. This anime is suitable for anybody because the storyline is totally universal plus it's very hilarious.
Okay, let's take a look at the storyline. I've watched the anime version and I also have read the manga version (Okay, I really am hooked with Keroro Gunso). The storyline is similar for both version but there are some stories in the manga is not available for the anime version. Well, the anime storyline doesn't affect the actual storyline since Keroro Gunso is not a continuous-storyline kind of anime so you can rest assure about that. Feel free to read the manga if you want. This maybe not related with the review, the manga drawing is very neat and if you can't really read the kanji, the furigana will help you....that is if you know hiragana and katakana XD
One thing that you may have noticed (or may not) is that Keroro Gunso really loves using Kansai dialect. I didn't notice it at first because I was thinking that my Japanese isn't that good. Thanks to my friend, now I know it's actually Kansai dialect. There is one episode where Keroro will speak in Kansai dialect. I don't understand Kansai dialect but I find that it sounds so cute *O*
Another special thing about this anime that it has a combination of wordplay and humor which means like you'll see quite a few parodies in this anime like Gundam (since Keroro loves Gundam) so yeah, you can laugh your head off when you see these parodies interpreted in funny ways.
Overall, this anime may look childish at first but once you start watching it, you'll be hooked with it XD
