Kimi ni Todoke 2nd Season anime review
April 23rd 2011 14:07
This is the second season of the anime, Kimi ni Todoke. You can read Kimi ni Todoke review here.
Genres: comedy, romance
Synopsis: Kuronuma Sawako is completely misunderstood by her classmates. Her timid and sweet demeanor is often mistaken for malicious behavior. This is due to her resemblance to the ghost girl from "The Ring", which has led her peers to give her the nickname Sadako. Longing to make friends and live a normal life, she is naturally drawn to Kazehaya Shouta, the most popular guy in class, whose "100% refreshing" personality earns great admiration from Sawako.

Alas, the second is finally here and for those who love this anime will be finally rejoiced. The story continued from where the previous season left so if you didn't watch the first season, you may not be able to grasp the whole plot. It's not that hard to understand the storyline, but it's advisable if you watch the first season before you attempt to watch the second season.
So, what's new in this second season? The storyline doesn't seem to change much but you'll be introduced with a few new characters. Other than that, the rest are familiar faces you've seen in the first season. These new characters give a huge impact on the whole plot where these new characters are related with Sawako. This could also mean that Sawako's social circle has expanded! But not to worry, her social circle doesn't take one episode to expand, so you can see a natural growth in her social circle.
If you have watched the first season, you must be wondering about Sawako and Kazehaya relationship, right? This is definitely a good news for you. You'll see their relationship takes its turn in the second season. Of course, there are tears involved but I won't say anything here just not to spoil the plot. If you're curious what happened to both of them, you need to watch this anime.
Even though the second season is short, I have to say that the anime doesn't seem to leave important things behind. I'm not really sure because I just read the first volume so I don't know how different is the anime and the manga version. But then again, most importantly everything ends in the right note without any clifthanger. I think this is one of the few shoujo anime that I have watched which ends in the proper manner. Second season is worth a watch if you have watched the first season.
