Kuroshitsuji II anime review
August 28th 2010 10:20
I know it's been a long time I haven't write any anime review and my recent posts was all about insurance. I really am sorry for writing such a boring post. But not to worry, you can expect there'll be more anime review coming in and mind you, I didn't and never will stop watching anime. So, you can expect that this blog will be updated no matter what.
Anyway, I'm sorry again for such a long rant. So, let's move on with the review here. Basically, this is the second season of Kuroshitsuji. You can read the first season review here.
Genre: Supernatural
Synopsis: In late-nineteenth century England, one year and three months after the dramatic conclusion of the original series, Kuroshitsuji II introduces a new butler and young master. The sadistic yet cheerful Alois Trancy has faced some harsh times. He was kidnapped as a baby, and was forced to work in a village as a slave. Gradually, he lost his parents, his best friend, and everyone he knew. Alois eventually returned home and became the head of his mansion, but seemed to exhibit some strange behavior ever since. Even more curiously, he returned with Claude Faustus, an enigmatic, emotionless butler with unfathomable talent...

Honestly, I have never thought that there is the second season of Kuroshitsuji until everybody is making a fuss about it when Shiver becomes the OP for Kuroshitsuji II.
Before I watched the first episode, I always had a feeling that it's going to be a boring story since it doesn't seem that I will see Sebastian for this season. Well, that is my first guess because whenever you search for Kuroshitsuji II, the main focus will always be on Claude and Alois. So, I thought this might be a new story focusing on those two.
So, when I forced myself to watch the first episode, I was very happy when I hear Sebastian's voice (okay, I admit here I'm Sebastian fangirl) after 13-15 minutes from the start of the episode. I really am glad that the second season isn't just about Alois and Claude but also the reappearance of Sebastian and Ciel. If you don't want to watch because there's no Sebastian and Ciel, you can rejoice now because you can see them in second episode onwards.
If you have never watched the previous season before, it can be a little tough for you to understand the storyline because the storyline itself does related back with the previous season from time to time. It may look like that the second season has a different story but people from the previous season do make a comeback here in the second season. In case you're wondering what are their relationship with Ciel, then you really need to watch the first season.
Honestly, I just find that the storyline for the second season seems downgrading. Even though the storyline is about to reach the part where everything that happened in the previous season will be answered in the later episode, I just thought that the storyline becomes lame. Well, I didn't watch the latest episode yet, but too bad that this anime doesn't sustain my interest for this anime for long.
What I can say about this anime in a nutshell would be that this anime isn't as great as I thought it would and I always thought that the second season might be better than the first season. However, this anime doesn't seem to meet my expectation. If you're contemplating to watch the second season, you can safely assure that it's okay for you not to watch the second season.
