Due to this, Satou creates a strange conspiracy theory which includes the Nihon Hikikomori Kyōkai (NHK), a secret organization with the intention of producing a hikikomori filled world. Satou intends to break free from the NHK's clutches, but cannot, since he finds it too frightening to go outdoors by himself; that is, until he meets Misaki Nakahara, who selects Satou for her "project" that she claims will cure him of his hikikomori ways.

Comment: Let me just tell you this story has absolutely nothing to do with the real NHK, the TV station. So let's get straight to the point. According to the statistic, there's about 1% of the Japanese population are hikkikomori. Even though it's only just a small percentage, it's still apart of social problem so this anime will gives you the inside story of the hikkikomori, if you've never heard of them, or see it with your own eyes. This anime will tell you the level of hikkikomori seriousness, their lifestyles and method to cure them. Besides hikkikomori problems, this anime also emphasize other psychological elements such as depression and low self-esteem. Even though this anime focused on social problem in Japanese society, it's not boring at all because this anime is injected with lots of silly humor. If you're looking for something fun and serious at the same time, this anime is a must watch. However, be warned there are cetrtain elements in this anime are not meant for kids.
