Rozen Maiden: Traumend anime review
January 1st 2009 14:51
Rozen Maiden: Traumend is the continuation of Rozen Maiden. The anime has 12 episodes altogether.
Genres: comedy, drama, supernatural
Synopsis: As summer break arrives for the students, Jun Sakurada is busily studying on his own in the library, making up for time lost while he had confined himself to his home. Meanwhile, his Rozen Maiden doll, Shinku, has been having troubling dreams of late. The pain and sadness of defeating Suigintou was overwhelming, despite the inevitable battle they waged. After waking suddenly from a nightmare, she finds Suigintou's companion spirit wandering; upon giving chase, she discovers that the seventh Doll-- Barasuishou-- has awakened. She now realizes that Suigintou's fate may very well befall the other Dolls, for the appearance of the last Doll signals the beginning of the end of the Alice Games.

Comment: If you have watched Rozen Maiden, you might thought that everything will be answered in Rozen Maiden: Traumend. But with Barasuishou's appearance and Suigintou's resurrection (sorry, there's spoiler here), things have turned out to be as complicated as the previous installment. All I can say that the storyline in this anime is a lot more interesting compared to Rozen Maiden because it did answer some of the questions but sadly not all. I was expecting that the second season would reveal everything but it turns out that it didn't answer some of the mysteries like who is actually Rozen and who resurrect all of them except Barasuishou (again there's another spoiler here) after they were defeated by Barasuishou. Oh, I forgot to mention here that a new character, Kanaria is introduced in this season. Even though the story is serious most of the time, there's always comedy in between the storyline so you don't have to feel so tense if you can't figure out the mysteries. Overall, the second season has a great storyline but what I'm frustrated the most is there some parts that I don't get it because it was left unexplained. Not to mention, the ending is kinda clift-hanging. Watch this anime if you have watched Rozen Maiden.
