Rozen Maiden anime review

Rozen Maiden is an anime adapted from the manga by Yuko Fukami. The anime has 12 episodes altogether.
Genres: adventure, comedy, drama, supernatural
Synopsis: Due to a deep trauma at school Sakurada Jun has refused to return. He spends his time in his room, surfing the web and ordering anything that takes his fancy, only to return the items just before payment is due. One day, he finds a web site that tells him to put his order in a drawer of his desk. He does so thinking it to be a joke, only to find that the letter disappears and a strange package arrives soon afterwards. It contains an exquisite doll, that, when wound, comes to life. She treats him as a servant of little worth, but over time helps him come to grips with his fears and in the life-or-death fights that soon follow her arrival.

Comment: I know it's odd for a guy to play around with dolls but Rozen Maiden is not the usual dolls since they have powers. If you're thinking Jun is just playing around with his dolls just because he's not going to school, think again. This anime is truly fulls of action and the storyline itself isn't that easy to understand because there are so many mysteries behind it. Even though the mysteries are revealed little by little, somehow I find that some of the things are left unanswered. Maybe the manga version will give you the answer that you've been looking for but overall, some of the things are really mysterious to me. Just because there are a lot of mysteries in this anime, that doesn't mean it will lead you into confusion. The storyline is still possible to understand but will be a lot easier to understand if you read the manga. I didn't read the manga so I'm having a little problem when I was trying to figure out the mysteries of those dolls. If you love looking at the pretty and lively dolls, this anime is a must watch. Otherwise, it's better not to if you don't like something left unexplained.
EDIT: I just happened to stumble upon on this site but you will understand the explanation a lot better if you have watched both Rozen Maiden and Rozen Maiden:Traumend. You can read the explanation here. Some of the stuff can be very confusing so I advised you to watch the anime first before reading this explanation.
