Serial Experiment Lain anime review
May 28th 2008 04:30
Serial Experiment Lain is an anime created by Yoshitoshi Abe (which is also the creator of Niea_7). This anime consists of 13 episodes altogether.
Genres: drama, mystery, psychological, science fiction, supernatural
Age rating: Teenagers (May contain bloody violence, bad language, nudity)
Synopsis: Lain Iwakura appears to be an ordinary girl, with almost no experience with computers. Yet the sudden suicide of a schoolmate, and a number of strange occurrences, conspire to pull Lain into the world of the Wired, where she gradually learns that nothing is what it seems to be... not even Lain herself.

Comment: If you have read my Ghost Hound review, I did mentioned that the story is similar to Serial Experiment Lain. Basically, if you have watch Ghost Hound so you can expect it's just exactly the same like Serial Experiment Lain. But then again, Serial Experiment Lain is unique in its own way. The world in Serial Experiment Lain is only revolving the transition between real world and cyber world so you can expect there are quite a lot of bizarre things happened during the transition. So it's just like Ghost Hound, you understand what's happening in the beginning and at the end of the story but you're lost in the middle of the story. Lain may look like a normal looking middle school girl but she actually possessed something related to the cyber world and her own existence. I think this anime is creepier than Ghost Hound. Watch this if you really like this kind of anime. Otherwise, I highly recommend you to stay away from this anime unless you're a huge fan of Yoshitoshi Abe.
