Based on the synopsis, I just find that the anime is kinda dull. Even though I really love watching supernatural anime, I don't know why that this anime never crossed my mind until recently. Little that I know that this anime really makes me glued to it. Why I'm so glued to this anime is something that I'm going to tell you and there is a reason why I highly recommend watching this anime.
The anime starts off with Masahiro fighting with an ayakashi along with a mononoke called Mokkun. You may be wondering how in the world that Masahiro can get a mononoke like him to follow him but the first episode really tells you how they actually met and how the seal within Masahiro was broken. The introduction is very simple but amusing at the same time because the first episode itself is very laid-back before the main story begins. But then again, I really have to admit that the pace for the storyline is very considerable. Even though there is a little bit of mystery about Mokkun's past, but it's still nicely explained so you won't get confused.
One thing I really love about this anime is it is filled with lots of action, I mean fighting scene that is. The fighting scene itself isn't just the typical punch-and-kick kind of action. If you know what an onmyouji does, you know they're not the kind of people who would show their fist as they're fighting ayakashi here, not human. So, their only weapon is obviously chanting as they can create all kinds of magic by chanting. I may say it wrongly about this but I really love it. The chanting is what makes me think that the battle scene in this anime is awesome.
This anime also doesn't run away from romance but I can just say that the romance is just the mild type. Obviously you can't expect a kid like Masahiro would be having a love scene in between right?? So, I can really summarize here that it's just the usual teen romance.Sometimes I think Masahiro and Akiko act like husband and wife.
Overall, this anime doesn't just focus on fighting ayakashi, but also there are humors and romance in between so this anime is pretty much well-rounded. This anime always come with interesting plot so this is an anime that I highly recommend you to watch.
