Special A (S.A) is an anime adapted from the manga by Maki Minami. The anime consists of 24 episodes altogether.

Special A, S.A

Genres: comedy, drama, romance

Synopsis: Hikari Hanazono, the main character, has always been second to Kei Takishima. While Hikari considers Kei a rival and somewhat of a friend, Kei loves Hikari. Everyone knows this, but she is too dense to notice. Their wrestling loving fathers first introduced them to one another when they were 6 years old. Assuming that she was the best in wrestling, young Hikari challenged Kei to a wrestling match only to be thoroughly defeated by him. Ever since that fateful incident, Hikari swore to beat Kei in school grades, a sporting event - anything. To do this she has enrolled in the same school as Kei since elementary. Now she attends Hakusenkan, an ultra elite school, that costs her carpenter father a lot of money. Hikari and Kei are the top two students in the school, with Kei holding firmly to that number one position.

Comment: As far as the storyline is concerned, it feels so mellow at first so you may find that this anime may not have any development in terms of plot at all. I found that the beginning of the story is very boring. Besides that, it's also the typical shoujo anime where the girl itself is very dense enough to notice the guy's feeling towards her and won't admit the truth if it's true. So, what's so special about this anime?? Well, I find that this anime is similar to Ouran High School Host Club where the school itself is for rich people. The Special A class is meant for top 7 scorer in the school. From there, you can see there's slightly difference compared with other school-based anime. And also, the main character, Hikari is a smart and strong girl which usually the typical main girl character isn't that smart so forget about having the same strength like men. Overall, this anime is totally meant for people who loves funny anime because this anime also has lots of comedy and it's also for people who prefer simple storyline.

About that one, it seems like the typical physical characteristic on every single anime I've watched. They look so perfect which makes us the mere mortals feel inferior~
