The Law of Ueki, Ueki no Housoku

Genres: action, adventure, comedy, drama, supernatural

Age rating: Older Children (May contain mild bad language, bloodless violence)

Synopsis: Kousuke Ueki, a student of the Hinokuni Junior High School, is picked by a God Candidate, Koba-sen, to participate in a competition where people battle out to become God and only the strongest will prevail. Embodied with the ability to turn garbage into trees, Kousuke will be joining in the battle against other junior high school students in this selection. This sets the premise for the earth-friendly battle where the students will pit their powers against the rest.

Comment: I really like the idea of having a power that can change garbage into trees. It makes me feel happy that I have environmental-friendly power. Okay, I'm kidding. The goal for this anime is very easy to understand which the rules of the competition is explained in a simpler manner. This anime is fulls of action making this anime fun to watch. However, I really suggest that you watch this anime from the beginning because if you know the basic idea of the story, you'll find it odd that the later episode emphasize less on his actual power (okay, there's a little bit of spoiler here). In other words, the storyline is very straightforward so you find it easy to understand even by just watching the first few episodes. I know if you look at the age rating, you'll start to wonder is this anime is meant for kids. My answer is yes and no. Yes because kids can definitely watch this and no because it's not that easy to understand the storyline even though it's very straightforward. I'm not really sure whether the storyline really does follow the manga or not so I can't guarantee you that it'll be the same like the manga version. Overall, I love this anime because the storyline is very straightforward and interesting and it's funny. Therefore, it's a fun anime to watch not just for kids but also for the adults.
