Usagi Drop is an anime adopted from the manga with the same title. This anime is also available as a live action too.
Genres: comedy, drama

Synopsis: Going home from his grandfather's funeral, thirty-year-old Daikichi is floored to discover that the old man had an illegitimate child with a younger lover. The rest of his family is equally shocked and embarrassed by this surprise development, and not one of them wants anything to do with the silent little girl, Rin Kaga. In a fit of anger, Daikichi decides to take her in himself. As Daikichi nurtures Rin, he started to understand the struggle while at the same time the joy of parenting.

To be honest, the reason why I was attracted to watch this anime in the first place is the storyline. Yes, a 70 year old man has an affair and he had a child from that younger lover. How interesting. The fact that a 70 year old man can still make a woman pregnant. That is lovely.
Okay, I'll stop that. As much as I find that the 70 year old man is still strong enough to make a woman pregnant, I just have to say that the storyline for this anime is very interesting. What's so interesting about this anime is it gives you a sneak peak on how people raise their children in Japan.
Well, I am a noob when it comes to child raising (I don't have a child so how should I know), but I think this anime by itself can give you a brief idea on what you should know when it comes to raising a child.
The part that really touches me the most when every single person that Daikichi met is willing to sacrifice their job as long as they can spend more time with their children. Sacrifice here would mean that they would settle for the fixed hour job rather than a job that requires them to do overtime. Well, this anime shows us a lot that you don't need to sacrifice everything including your career. It is tough but just like what Daikichi did, he managed to do it so he can spend more time with Rin.
I really wish that this anime would be longer because this is indeed an interesting anime to watch. Whatever it is, I just hope there will be another season for Usagi Drop. Whether you're interested with family life or not, I highly recommend you to watch this anime not just because of its interesting storyline (a 70 year old man with a younger lover), but it has so many episodes filled with lessons that we can learn.
