Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is the sequel of the OAV Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

Yeah, I know the synopsis for this anime is missing but if you have watched Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, you'll get the idea what kind of story is this.
For those who have no idea what kind of anime is this, I can only say that there's no exact storyline for this anime except for Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. However, it was only just for a few episodes you'll get the idea what kind of storyline you should expect and after that it becomes random again.
Perhaps you'll be wondering is there anything that Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei has to offer, I can say that in the beginning of each episode, there will be some sort of like a narration. The narration sounds funny to me but this part really makes a different for this anime. I don't know whether is this the Japanese way of doing narration but I find that I couldn't get used with the narration's intonation. However, the narration has something to do with the story for that particular episode. Besides that, there is also a story which is about Journey For Self-Discovery which is available in every single episode. So you can expect at least this portion of the episode will have continuation.
As usual, the things which are portrayed in every single episode is related with society. Again, I have never thought about the issues presented in this anime but whatever issues and messages this anime conveyed really makes sense. It's funny to say that this anime again really opens up my mind about issues that surrounding us just like the previous sequel such as Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. But then again, I really love how Hiroshi Kamiya really brought Itoshiki Nozomu's character to life.
Overall, I already know that Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei will always be the same like its previous sequel but I'm still watching it because I find that Hiroshi Kamiya really does a wonderful job in bringing Itoshiki Nozomu character to life. If you're interested to watch this anime, it's better if you start with Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and so on so then you'll get to understand this anime better. Like I said, the storyline is very random but you shouldn't miss the characters' introduction which is mostly in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Therefore, if you're fine with randomness and deep issues, watch this anime.
